Mark your calendar! Louis is coming! For years you've asked for Louis to teach hands on classes and now he will finally be here. Louis is very excited to come back and teach us how to do all the wonderful and fun techniques he's been showing at SEW FAIR for years. You won't want to miss these three fun filled days of sewing. Louis has expertise in Surface and Texture Design including specialty bobbin work, Embroidery, Quilting, Home Decorating, Sergers, Appliqué and Embellishments. With a focus on interiors and serger techniques and his special attention to detail, his congenial class atmosphere and beautiful samples ensure his classes will fill quickly.

SEWING SOCIAL
We will have the sewing social on the second Thursday of the month, when possible, from 10am - 2pm. Bring your projects to work on while you socialize with other sewists, quilters and embroiderers. Seating is limited so you must call 410 465-6366 to reserve a place.

The floating star is a traditional block that works well in a "trip-around-the-world" setting. Learn a quick and easy no-triangle, strip-piecing method that takes the bother out of bias and ensures precision -cut blocks. Class fee $50 plus supplies

This simple quilt pattern is traditional yet timeless. Suitable for beginners and experienced quilt makers, this pattern is an excellent introduction to machine appliqué and fusible interfacing makes it simple. Points and seams go together perfectly every time. Class fee $50 plus supplies
MasterWorks Software - Creating Applique -Brad Martin

Learn to digitize Fall leaves using the applique feature. This would be great for a Fall table runner or decoration. Laptop with MasterWorks or MasterWorks II would be great for hands on but not required. Class Fee $20

New Sewer to Beginner plus - 3 part class
This 3 part class will teach you some sewing basics such as using your feet to do different techniques, selecting patterns and fabric and basic fitting Whether you have a little knowledge of sewing or no knowledge at all , this is the class for you.
Class fee is $90 plus pattern and supplies
1 - Friday, October 1st 7pm - 10pm
Discuss threads, needles, fabrics and pattern reading, take measurements and do sewing exercises
2 - Friday, October 8th 7pm - 10pm
Learn the basics of your machine and which foot to use. Practice utility stitches such as basting, topstitching, gathering, blind hem and stitch in the ditch
3 - Friday October 15th 7pm -10pm
In this session you will learn to hem, do flat-felled & French seams, sew darts, make pintucks and insert zippers
Living Color 3D Leaves - Mary Beth

Storm By Sea - Terri Miller

Ever wanted to try a Hoopsisters in the hoop quilt/embroidery pattern? In this class you will stitch out one of each of the Storm by Sea blocks and learn the joining technique. Class fee $55 plus pattern and supplies.

This class will require the purchase of Dakota Collectibles new Towel Topper Variety CD. The designs are applique's that are directly attached to the towel. These make great gifts
Embroidablock 2010
TNT
Terri will again present the new Hoopsisters Embroidablock 2010 in a lecture/demo format. Class will be on the second Wednesday or the second Saturday of the month from 1pm to 2:30pm The Ten month class fee is $100. Come each month to receive your cd with the block for the month. 1pm - 2:30pm
Month Seven - Block Seven & Eight - Wednesday, August 11th or Saturday, August 14th
Month Eight - Putting it all together - Wednesday, September 8th or Saturday, September 11th (This will be a hands-on class)
Class Policy
Payment must be received at time of registration. Cancel 7 or more days before class you will be issued a store credit. There will be no refunds or credit for cancellations less than 6 days before class. If we have to cancel a class, we will do everything possible to reschedule the class at a convenient time for the students. A full refund will be given if we must cancel. You will receive a 20% discount on all notions purchased here for a class and a 20% discount on all notions on class day.
SNOW POLICY - If Howard County schools are 2 hours late, then the 10am classes will be not start until 12pm If Howard County schools are closed then the class will be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date. |
