9:00 - 10:30 "Surface Embellishment" Lori Hernandez

Lori starts with a basic pattern but doesn’t stop there. The base fabric is her canvas. Lori’s head swims with wonderful ideas that takes the basic pattern design and transforms it into a one of kind designer garment. She will share with you some of her surface embellishment techniques and much more.

 

11:00 - 12:30 "Threads and Stabilizers, Oh My!" Michelle Umlauf

Michelle is a National Educator representing Sulky of America and the host of the Sewing Online with Sulky webcast. She is going to educate us about the different threads and stabilizers in the Sulky line. You will learn more than you can imagine there is to know about the different thread weights, types of stabilizer and the different applications you can do with them. Michelle knows that this information can be overwhelming at times and believes that you can't hear this information too many times. So, she is going to share with you her secret to driving this information home. It worked for her, and it will work for you! You will learn where to find some helpful printable downloads. She will demonstrate how you can make a fool-proof reference book for stabilizers and how you can customize it to fit your needs. Michelle will also explain the process of choosing the right sewing machine needle every time and you will even see her perform some magic tricks. Bring something to take notes.

3:30 - 5:00 "Multi-Dimensional Embroidery" Belinda Harford

 

Belinda Harford joins us to delight with her vast knowledge and creativity. A travelling teacher who has been all over the country and other countries as well, she loves to share her enthusiasm for embroidery! A digitizer with her own line of embroidery designs, Belinda will show techniques for Stump work, which incorporates wire into free standing embroidery. She also will demonstrate using Glitter Flex vinyl to embroider cute free standing baubles. Finally, she will demonstrate using the incredible shrinking fabric texture magic to embellish free standing flowers on a quilt block. Don't miss part 2 on Friday!

Erin Underwood presents her Trunk Show full of wonderful short cuts and quick piecing techniques to make intricate quilts easier and achievable! Like medallion quilts, fan blocks and stars? How about Tuffets?! Join Erin to see how she simplifies construction techniques to create beautiful projects with ease.

Belinda returns to wow us with her awesome 3D embroidery techniques! She will use Angelina, Glitter Flex Vinyl and Holographic paper to do some fearless trapunto! She will also demonstrate her incredible 3D Decoupage technique, as well as Mola Work, a type of reverse applique! Don't miss her trunk show on Saturday!
