Come and see what happens when a fiber/artist couturier gets her hands on an embroidery machine! Watch a virtual trunk show while Evy explains how she did what she did with machine embroidery to create wedding garments, children's wear, evening ensembles, accessories, home decor, quilts and much more. You will learn about creating your own unique fabric for use with embroidery appliqués; how to jump start other craft techniques in the hoop and how to use your design stash to create original works of art.

Lemoyne Star Quilts and Hunter's Star Quilts were traditionally made with "Y" seams, inset seams and lots of stress. Not anymore! Barbara shows both can be made with the Rapid-Fire Tools-Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star and Rapid-Fire Hunters Star tools. Using strip piecing methods both of these quilts go together quickly and easily. Hunter's Star blocks can be set in many ways- the choices are endless! Lemoyne Stars are fabulous but wait until you see all the variations of this 8-pointed star!

Machine embroidery is so much fun, but what about when that "oops" happens? Can you fix it? YES, you can! Learn how Evy fixes the glitches in the stitches during her adventures with machine embroidery. Plus learn Evy's favorite tips and tricks for hooping, stabilizing and appliqué. Figure out what stabilizer your project needs with one easy question. Learn about toppers and undercover materials and how to use them to make your embroidery designs perfect no matter what you put them on. After over thirty years of machine embroidery experience, Evy has a stockpile of "save the project" fixes to share.

Heard all the buzz about the Babylock Destiny II but wondered what's it all about? Missy will show you how easy it is to scan artwork to create your own embroidery designs and using built in fill patterns to create your own works of art. Are you a quilter? With a touch of a button stipple around any design. So many things you can do and so easy to do them! Things we never thought possible can be done on an embroidery machine!
Meet the Educators!
Missy Billingsley
Missy has embraced sewing for more than 20 years. She travels the country teaching sewing, serging, embroidery and software with a special focus on heirloom sewing by machine and serger. Missy is a Martha Pullen Licensed Teacher and a Sulky Certified Instructor, and has four instructional project DVDs. She’s appeared on “Martha’s Sewing Room” and in several magazines, including Sew Beautiful, Creative Expressions, Creative Machine Embroidery, Quilting, and Classic Sewing.
Evy Hawkins
Evy has been sewing since she was a child. During the course of her career she has been a couturiere, a women's wear designer, a freelance embroidery designer, shop owner, children's wear designer/manufacturer and a graphic artist. She currently designs and digitizes her own line of embroidery designs and creating projects, patterns and more at her website, A Bit of Stitch.
Barbara Dann
Barbara is a passionate quilter with too many ideas and never enough time! She specializes in Studio 180 Design tools and techniques. She teaches at guilds, quilt shops and quilt shows. Barbara's lectures and classes are relaxed, informative and fun. She enjoys teaching quilters of all skill levels and shares many tips and techniques that make piecing easier, faster and more accurate.
